One of the most important aspects to your business is the branding. So I’m sharing five ways to brand your CBD company so you can stand out and start attracting your ideal customers. I’ll be using examples from what we did for Bright Leaf CBD to help with the visual aspect of it all.

1. Choosing the color scheme and typography

With Bright Leaf CBD, we wanted something down to earth with a touch of sunshine to match the Florida vibes. We stuck with earthly tones for her branding. However, that might not be the vibe you’re going for with your business. Maybe you want something more vibrant, or maybe you want a more blacked out approach. The great thing about branding is that it gets to be personalized to your company.

2. Designing the logo for your CBD company

Erika already had a general logo design in mind, so we took her idea and expanded on it. Depending on your budget, you can either pay a company to design one for you, or you can work on creating one yourself through Canva or Creative Market. I dive into this more in my branding course. However, if you have the budget for it, I will always recommend paying a designer to create a logo for you so you’re able to trademark it.

3. Deciding on patterns or keeping it solid

Patterns will be accents to your website, social media platforms, and even the packaging that goes with your CBD products. While patterns aren’t an absolute necessity, they can be helpful! For this particular project, we went with hand drawn elements for the patterns that added a more boho aesthetic that would catch the eye.

4. Choosing how to package your product

The packaging you choose will be one of the first elements your potential consumer will see. Whether it’s a bottle on a shelf or the box it arrives in, every detail is crucial to the brand experience. There is a lot that goes into packaging that will depend on your budget, the quantity your ordering, and whether choosing the most eco-friendly options are as detrimental to your brand or not.

For Bright Leaf, we wanted to stick with the most eco-friendly options available. Instead of mailing her full spectrum CBD out in boxes, we picked out Noissue to add a subtle branded touch to wrap her products in.

5. Get a branding session

I cannot stress this one enough. It’s so important to get branding sessions done for your product so you can market it. These photos (and videos) should be thought out well enough so you have ways to brand your cbd company on all sorts of platforms. The quality should be good enough for you to have on a website like Woocommerce, Shopify, or other e-commerce sites. But you should also be able to use them for things like Instagram reels, Tiktok, and so forth. By hiring a creative studio, you’ll know you’re in good hands.
