3 quick tips to improve your SEO with WordPress

Here are 3 quick tips to improve your SEO so your website can start showing up on search results for the things your small business offers. SEO doesn’t have to be the enemy. Really, it just wants to be your business partner. It is what helps people find your business on search engines after all! Here are some of my favorites when it comes to prepping keywords for my website and clients of mine.

1. Using Google Trends to see what keywords people are searching for.

Google will share with you all the stats about the keywords you look up, all you have to do is ask. You can play around with different phrases and see which ones are searched the most on Google. Play around with short tail and long tail key words and make a list in excel or word to you can see them all in one place.

2. Improve each webpage SEO with the help of the Yoast SEO plugin.

AKA your new WordPress plugins best friend… outside of things like Monster Insights and such! Yoast helps you easily update things on your wordpress like page titles and meta descriptions, and provides recommendations for doing better with your keyword of choice. It even gives you recommendations about readability. Though you should take it with a grain of salt at times, it does give a lot of great pointers!

3. Get inspiration for additional keywords with the Keywords Everywhere Extension

Struggling with looking up different keywords? Keywords everywhere will help you out friend! You can find yourself in a keyword rabbit hole honestly, but in all the best ways. Tie this together with google trends to see which ones are researched the most and start piecing them together with your Yoast SEO plugin.

With these three tools you can start improving your rankings on search engines for the keywords people are actually searching for, thus improving your websites overall SEO with the help of keyword research and implementation. Yay, help!
